Another school year approaches...

Emma starts VPK on Monday!  I can't believe that next year I will have a kindergartner.  Crazy how fast time flies right on by us.  What's harder to believe is that she is going to be 5 in less than 2 months.  Doug and I are going to have a FIVE year old!!  I really need to start planning her party.  She has already given me instructions on the kind of cake she wants...Barbie!  But, for now, I just need to focus on getting her off to a good start to her last year of preschool.

My Crafty Husband...Who Knew?!?

Look at what my sweet husband has built for me!!

We saw something very similar to this in an antique store when we were just up in Illinois and instead of buying it, he said he could make it for me.  Well, I put him to work!!

Here it is (almost finished).  I have to pick what color I want it painted and then after that there will be a hook applied to the tallest board to hang signs or whatever I choose from it.  Who knew Doug was so handy!!!

Locks of Love

After 4 1/2 years and only 1 haircut, we decided it was time to get Emma's hair cut and not just a trim this time!  We have heard about Locks of Love and know people that have donated hair before and we thought it would be a great thing to do with Emma's hair.  The minimum you have to get cut off is 10 inches...yikes!  So, I scheduled an appointment and off we went to see Courtney at InStyle Hair Salon in Waterford.

Emma was ready for the big cut!!

Before

There it goes...yes, my eyes got watery!

The happy donor!!

After!!!
I think she is pleased with the final outcome!!

Emma and Courtney (and the hair)!!

All ready to send off the hair to a sweet, little girl in need!!  Emma even got to decorate the envelope!

Art Project

I found a really neat art project to do with the kids over at another blog, Attack Of The Twins.  I decided to get the supplies and let the kids go to town with some paint.

It's pretty simple.  First you need to get the following supplies:
Canvas
Tape (I used blue masking tape)
Finger Paint
Paint Brushes (I got the foam kind)

Lay down the name(s) you want to use

Paint!

Let the paint dry

Peel off the tape carefully and hang or set wherever you choose!!

Slacker

I have been such a slacker when it comes to my blog...I'm sorry! I am going to try and start posting again but I just get so busy with the kids sometimes (well, all the time)!! Stay tuned!
