Locks of Love

After 4 1/2 years and only 1 haircut, we decided it was time to get Emma's hair cut and not just a trim this time!  We have heard about Locks of Love and know people that have donated hair before and we thought it would be a great thing to do with Emma's hair.  The minimum you have to get cut off is 10 inches...yikes!  So, I scheduled an appointment and off we went to see Courtney at InStyle Hair Salon in Waterford.

Emma was ready for the big cut!!

Before

There it goes...yes, my eyes got watery!

The happy donor!!

After!!!
I think she is pleased with the final outcome!!

Emma and Courtney (and the hair)!!

All ready to send off the hair to a sweet, little girl in need!!  Emma even got to decorate the envelope!

Art Project

I found a really neat art project to do with the kids over at another blog, Attack Of The Twins.  I decided to get the supplies and let the kids go to town with some paint.

It's pretty simple.  First you need to get the following supplies:
Canvas
Tape (I used blue masking tape)
Finger Paint
Paint Brushes (I got the foam kind)

Lay down the name(s) you want to use

Paint!

Let the paint dry

Peel off the tape carefully and hang or set wherever you choose!!

Birthday Girl

My Dad and Jan had us over the day before Emma's birthday for lunch and VERY yummy cake!
Here is the birthday girl after school on her birthday. Her teacher, Mrs. Mayse, made this little crown for her. I took in cupcakes for her and the class to enjoy!
Money for her savings account
Daddy went out and got her roses and some boots! She saw a girl at school wearing boots and decided that she had to have some!! She's not spoiled or anything!!!

Most Loved

Emma had show and tell at school today and was told to bring in her favorite stuffed animal. Well, that is a no-brainer! Emma stuffed Mimi in her backpack and was ready to head to school. When I went to pick her up that afternoon, all of the kids stuffed animals were sitting outside the classroom and I could see that all of them were wearing different blue ribbons. When I looked at Mimi I couldn't help but laugh. There is no doubt that anyone who has ever come in contact with Mimi will wonder why she got the award that she did. For those who haven't, Mimi has been carried around and played with so much that there is no stuffing left in her neck and the top of her chest and she just slumps over! I had to take a picture when we got home and I have the ribbon tucked away in a bin with all of Emma's school stuff!!

The Happiest Place on Earth

Emma had been asking if we could go to Disney, so we asked Uncle Tommy if he could get us in. We got to see a couple characters and get some more autographs for Emma's book. It was a good day, but it sure was hot out!
