Animal Kingdom

On Saturday we went to Animal Kingdom (Uncle Tommy got us in for free at the last minute)! We went and saw "It's Tough To Be a Bug" and Emma did perfect during the show. It is 3D and gets really dark and loud, but she just flinched a few times and that was it. Later we went and saw The Lion King and she loved it. There are some pictures here of her during the show. We went on a safari ride and she slept the whole time. Doug and I got drowned on the river rapids ride. I think we were the only people in our boat that got as wet as we did. It made the HOT day a little more bearable.

4th of July

Emma is definitely a ham for the camera as you can tell in these pictures. These were taken on July4. We went swimming while Doug went out deep sea fishing. That night we decided to stay in instead of going and watching fireworks because we weren't sure how Emma would do. Doug took her out back where some neighbors were doing some and she seemed okay. She would bury her head every once in a while. Even as they went off during the night, she never woke up (which Doug and I were thankful for). Grandma bought her a little outfit that said "All American Girl."

The Bachelorette

I am so happy that DeAnna chose Jesse on this season of The Bachelorette. He has been my favorite all along. Jason would have been my second choice though instead of Jeremy. I think Jeremy has a few issues. Let's see if they televise it like they did Trista and Ryan (I hope so)!!

In the first picture you can see Emma's top two teeth. In the next one you can see the bottom two. She has two more coming in on either side of the top ones that we can see.
She loves being hung upside down by her Daddy. If you are holding her, she will start leaning her head back to let you know she wants to be upside down.
And, I figured I would include a picture of Doug's new baby! We put that money the government sent us to good use...I bought it for him for his birthday as a surprise. I think I deserve wife of the year for buying a 56" tv when we had one that worked perfectly fine to begin with!!

9 Months Old

Well, Emma Lynn is 9 months old today. I can't believe it. I was watching her yesterday and thinking about how much she has changed in such a really short amount of time. She is starting to not look so much like a baby anymore. She is becoming a "big girl."

This morning when I dropped her off at Aunt Jennifer and Uncle Tommy's house she started crying when I walked out the door (but then the garbage truck came by and she forgot all about me)! I don't want her to be at that stage where she cries when I leave her. It makes me feel so bad.

She has four teeth through now and two more that are working their way out (that we can see at least). She is always gnawing on something and sticking her fingers in her mouth. She bit me on the shoulder yesterday and it really hurt. She has been nibbling a little, but that time it actually really hurt.

I promise I will post pictures tonight. I don't have the camera with me right now. I have a couple where you can see her teeth that just came through at the top.

Last night Doug and I went and saw Wall*E with Brad and Amanda. I think that is my new favorite animated movie. We really liked it. About half way through the lights came on and the movie went off. It was storming pretty bad outside so it threw the power off. It came back on after about 10 minutes and we got to finish the movie.
Emma had to stay home with Grandma, but she got to play with Katrina, Natalie and Abby while she was there.

Doug went to the Philippines this month for his job. He left June 11 and got back home on June 21. That was a long 11 days for all of us. He has been told he can't be gone that long anymore. He is over the outsourcing company that Butler and Hosch has over there and he went to do some training. He did a lot of flying between here and there and back. He left Orlando and went to Houston, then LA and then to the Philippines. That last flight is 17 hours long. He did the same on the way back. It is kind of funny...they are 13 hours ahead of us, so he left there Friday night at 10pm their time and arrived in LA on Friday night at 8pm their time. He arrived before he left!! These are some pictures someone in the office over there took of him with the staff. There is also a couple from his ride in a Jeepnie (not sure if that is how it is spelled). I guess during one of the wars, the US left a lot of Jeeps over there and they have now converted them into a sort of a limo.
